Origins
One Sunday a man passed near a tent where Free Methodists in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, were worshipping. He was attracted to the singing and the people. He gave his heart to the Lord. Not too long after, the man became burdened for the people of his home country, Botswana. He talked with the pastor and lay leaders about how to get the message of the Free Methodist Church to his homeland. Leaders conducted a mission trip in 1998 to survey the man’s village near Francistown, Botswana. The Zimbabweans were warmly welcomed. Present Ministries
A small congregation now meets. Rev. Mapholisa is responsible for the church planting project. The Free Methodist Church has been officially registered in Botswana.
