Tanganyika University of Hope has just opened to provide higher education in this General Conference of more than 170,000 members. The DRC Free Methodist Church has nearly 200 elementary schools and approximately 50 secondary schools. It is a normal progression to have a university as well. The political authorities and local population have shown their resounding approval of the project by giving a large piece of good property to the FMC on which to build the campus. Until then, the university will be using space available at a FM school in Baraka.
