Origins
This Mission District began in 1998 through the partnership of Free Methodist World Missions and the Free Methodist Church in Southern California. The first Free Methodist Church service was held in May 1999. Present Ministries
A study center to help orphans – many affected by HIV/AIDS – ministers in cooperation with International Child Care Ministries. In addition, church planting continues across Ethiopia, while a pastoral training program is to begin in 2010. A large reforestation project has been started to reclaim desert land and help change the climate. More than 2 million trees have been planted. In June 2009 Free Methodist work in Ethiopia transitioned from leadership by the FMC in Southern California to Free Methodist World Missions. Learn more about Ethiopia
