Origins

In 1997 a Malawian pastor, walked six hours across the border into Zambia to a village where he had friends. He preached to the community and several people were converted. A Free Methodist church was organized.  

Approximately 60 Free Methodist members form the church, which is located in the northeast corner of the country near the Malawi, Zambia, and Tanzania borders. Another group was started near Ndola by a Rwandan refugee pastor. This group is now under the direction of the South Africa General Conference, which has officially registered the FMC in Zambia.
