Origins
Free Methodist work began in the late 1940s when missionaries joined the massive migration from China as Communist forces overtook the mainland. Taiwan is an evangelistic, church-planting conference, dynamic and well-organized. The standard of living in Taiwan, however, deters from a commitment to a non-materialistic lifestyle. Present Ministries
While experiencing membership growth within its boundaries, the Free Methodist Church in Taiwan has also been exercising vigorous missionary vision outside its borders. The evangelistic challenge is still great within Taiwan, and it is hoped that well-placed and focused missionaries will complement the goals of the Taiwan church as well as oversee its outreach in Myanmar. Holy Light Theological Seminary and China Evangelical Seminary are training centers for church leaders and missionaries. The first Free Methodist Vietnamese church was launched in Taipei on Easter Sunday 2008. Outreach
Free Methodists in Taiwan support and supervise ministries among the Chinese and the Chin tribal people in Myanmar’s capital city, Yangon. Taiwan also oversees leadership development in creative access areas. Opportunities to support Taiwan ministries Learn more about Taiwan
