International Missionary Support
Project #: WE454345
Amount: $12,600
Gerry and Kati McNamara - Gerry is originally from the Republic of Ireland; Kati is Hungarian. They met when they were both living in London. After they were married, they lived for a time in Ireland, but then decided to move to Hungary where they permanently settled. Gerry's professional background is in psychiatric nursing (and weight-lifting!), but the Lord had other plans. Gerry has responded to God's call into full-time ministry, and since early 2002 Gerry has served as the pastor of the Free Methodist Church in Gyor. Gerry is one of the first Free Methodist ministerial candidates in continental Europe.

Wesleyan Alliance support
Project #: WE454211
Amount: $2,000
The Wesleyan Alliance of Hungary began in the spring of 2000 when representatives from several churches met to discuss the possibility of establishing a publishing alliance that would produce and market books written from a Wesleyan theological perspective. The first project is the translation and publication of John Wesley's Standard Sermons in three volumes. Another area of mutual need and concern is the training and development of pastors and church leaders. Out of this need has sprung the establishment of a pastoral training program that is jointly sponsored by the partnering groups.

Budapest Ministry Center
Project #: WE454100
Amount: $30,000
The Budapest Ministry Center serves as the headquarters for the Free Methodist Church in Europe. The center was purchased in October 2005. This stand-alone building houses the European offices and is the home of the Budapest church fellowship. Named the "Kozhely" (meaning "Common Place"), the name signifies the desire that the facility would be a friendly and welcoming place for everyone. A team from the PNW Conference helped with major renovations, but significant roof repairs need to take place soon.

Gyor Ministry Center
Project #: WE454147
Amount: $15,000
The Gyor Ministry Center currently consists of a small second-floor meeting room and an approximately equally-sized basement room in the same building. The Gyor fellowship has outgrown this space and is hoping to relocate to another location that they can own, rather than rent. In the meantime, the costs of renting and maintaining this center greatly exceed the amount of money allotted for this purpose in the mission budget. It is important to note that this young congregation has many teenagers and young adults that do not have much (if any) income. The few working couples and individuals in the fellowship are doing their best to support the church through their giving, but at present it is impossible for them to fully fund the operation and maintenance of the church, its pastor, and its programs.

Children's Ministries
Project #: WE454215
Amount: $4,000
Outreach ministries to children are taking place in both Gyor and Budapest. In Gyor an ongoing outreach to gypsy children, as well as a feeding program, take place throughout the school year. In Budapest a weekly Bible Club for children has begun, in partnership with the local Family Help Center (a Hungarian social service agency). Funds are needed to assist with these programs. Frequent requests are received by the Free Methodist Mission in Hungary from churches that want to support "kid-friendly programs". These children's ministries are an ideal match for such requests.

Basic Beliefs Publication
Project #: WE454212
Amount: $5,000
The Free Methodist Mission has commissioned the translation of Dr. Demaray's work, Basic Beliefs, into Hungarian. The translation has been completed and paid for, but funds are lacking to cover editing and printing costs. Larry Winckles is directing this translation project.
