Origins
The Free Methodist Church in Bolivia was begun on July 17, 1994, when a Bolivian with a Methodist background, Silverio Chambi Yana, was named church planter in the city of Cochabamba. In 2000 the FMC refocused its efforts toward the capital city of La Paz and in 2005 began work in Santa Cruz. Present Ministries
The work in Santa Cruz is led by Sergio and Mari Loyola, former superintendent of the FMC in Chile. Church services began in their house on April 10, 2005. Currently there is a church in Santa Cruz and a church plant in Candelaria, a small town outside of Santa Cruz.
