Origins
The Free Methodist Church in El Salvador was planted by Jose Eduardo Rauda, an ordained Hispanic pastor from the Texas Conference. He and his family were forced to return to their home country of El Salvador due to changes in immigration policies in the early 1990s. In spite of the ongoing civil war, Pastor Rauda began evangelizing and planted a congregation. In 1995 Free Methodist World Missions became aware of his work and officially incorporated the church into the Free Methodist denomination. Present Ministries
The main church in San Salvador has built a facility with the help of VISA teams and has mothered another church in the town of Chalatanango. The work is now led by Nelson Rodriguez after Pastor Rauda returned to Texas. Opportunities to support El Salvador ministries Learn more about El Salvador
