Origins

Over the last several years, Free Methodists in the U.S. have planted churches in three different areas of Honduras:
1) two churches started in the San Pedro Sula area, under the oversight of FM pastors Belarminio Martinez and Javier Mendoza, Miami, FL, South Atlantic Conference
2) two churches started in the Olanchita area, under the oversight of FM pastors Brent and Alma Thompson, Fredonia, NY, Genesis Conference, and
3) the church started in Travesía, under the oversight of FM pastor Ventura Loreto, New England Conference.

In March 2008, Bishop David Roller traveled to Honduras to officially recognize these three groups as a church-in-formation and to facilitate future cooperative efforts.
