Brazilian Church Planter

For decades, the mission field for Free Methodists was "overseas." Now, the U.S. is also a mission field with the influx of many ethnic groups. In 1998, as a retired FM missionary to Brazil, God gave me a vision for church planting among the 350,000 Brazilians in Florida. God has blessed this venture of faith with four organized churches, four church plants and numerous ordained Brazilian pastors. The work soon grew beyond my ability to lead. I invited a seasoned pastor/evangelist/church planter/leader from Brazil, Rev. Valdir Mateos, to come and take my place. He is serving fulltime as pastor of a church and as Brazilian district leader on $1,500 a month. We need an additional $1,500 a month so that he can carry on this dual ministry.

6% of money given to Extra Mile Projects is used to cover the costs of processing and distributing the funds and of overseeing the projects on the field. Oversubscribed funds will be used where needed most by Free Methodist World Missions.
