Corey and Connie Persing were approved in October 2009 as Free Methodist World Missions' first developmental missionary interns, under a recently-initiated program. The Persings plan to begin a two-year term in Chiang Mai, Thailand, in the summer of 2010. Corey will teach math at Grace International School, and both Corey and Connie will assist with the ministries of the local Free Methodist church. The new internship program features mentoring, training and accountability for the development of effective cross-cultural workers.

The Persing family spent the 2007-08 school year serving in Thailand under VISA Ministries. Members of the New Middletown FMC in Ohio, the Persings are currently engaged in partnership building ministries.
